Newfoundland coyote

These large coyotes have established themselves here on the island of Newfoundland and they intend to stay. The government now has place bounties on these animals to control the populations.  The Newfoundland  coyote looks like a half-wolf and half-coyote. They are quite large.  There has been evidence of the Newfoundland coyote bringing down full-grown moose and caribou. Newfoundland and Labrador Seals

This seal was first seen on the beach in front of our remote cottage located in North Arm.  Once it saw us the seal went into the water and was gone.  Later that day when we were crossing the river, we spotted the seal again bathing on the rocks.  It was about 600 meters up river from the ocean.  This is the first time I have ever seen a seal that far from salt water.  After a few photos we left and went back to the beach,  to our suprise we spoted a baby seal.  We didn't know if the seal we ...

The Laydens We have been beach-combing for many years and we love the exploration. Remote areas where people once lived are our favourite places to visit. My two sons just love the ocean and they spend many hours treasure hunting along the beaches. For all of us it is, and has always has been our way of life.
