Newfoundland Tails
According to local legend, the Spanish buried a treasure on Shellbird Island in the Humber River, about five minutes from Corner Brook. If you look closely, you will see the face of an old man in a rock formation overlooking the island. "The Old Man In the Mountain" is said to be a marker for the treasure. Best seen from the rest area provided just off the eastbound Trans Canada Highway, Exit #7.
We have been beach-combing for many years and we love the exploration. Remote areas where people once lived are our favourite places to visit. My two sons just love the ocean and they spend many hours treasure hunting along the beaches. For all of us it is, and has always has been our way of life. Who knows what the next wave will bring you. We wish you happiness good health and enlightenment, catch the wave when you can.
