"Sea Glass" ... What is it? The Wonderful World Of Sea Glass is proud to offer some of the oldest and finest Genuine Sea Glass in the world. Remote beaches along Newfoundland's rugged west coast offer up these colorful, frosted gems. Each is a unique delight to find and to hold! Also known as "beach glass" or "mermaid's tears", authentic sea glass is one of the very few cases of a valuable item being created by the actions of the environment on man-made material. Because littering is discouraged much more today than it was decades and centuries ago authentic sea glass is becoming increasingly rare. We carry a large collection of 100% Authentic Sea Glass, Sea Shells, Driftwood, and unique Rock.
Note: Although it's possible to get Artificial Sea Glass, you'll miss two things with it: 1. Physical appearance. The decades-long exposure to pounding seas creates an etched surface on the glass that cannot be artificially duplicated by a rock tumbler. 2. The romantic origin of authentic Sea Glass. |

Sea Glass?... The birth of Sea Glass begins with glass that some way or other wines up in the water, oceans, rivers, and lakes. Most of the glass came from the garbage that had been deposited over pass hundreds of years. Sea glass is one of the very few cases of a valuable item being created from the actions of the environment on man-made litter. The color of sea glass is determined by its original source. Most sea glass comes from bottles, but it can also come from jars, plates, windows, windshields, glasses, art, flasks, containers, and any other glass source that has found its way into the ocean. Some collectors also collect sea pottery. The most common colours of sea glass are kelly green, brown, and clear. These colours come from bottles used by companies that sell beer, juices, and soft drinks. The clear or white glass comes from clear plates and glasses, windshields, windows, and assorted other sources The cost line of Newfoundland and labrador has many abandoned fishing villages, here too garbage has been transform into beautiful glass gems.
